Who is Jesus?

..."You are the Christ, the Son of the living God" (Matthew 16:16 NASB)

"...I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me." (John 14:6 NASB)

"Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." (Matthew 11:28-30 NASB)

"And there is salvation in no one else; for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved." (Acts 4:12 NASB)

 

"What must I do to be saved?" (Acts 16:30 NASB)


Salvation is something we can never accomplish on our own. Jesus came to earth to save us because we can’t save ourselves from sin and its consequences. No matter how good we are, we can’t eliminate the sinful nature present in all of us. Only Jesus can do that. Jesus didn’t come to help people save themselves; he came to be their Savior from the power and penalty of sin. Ask Jesus to take control of your life and your new life begins at that moment.

God Loves You
God loves us and wants us to be with him in heaven. God created us for his good pleasure.

  • JOHN 3:16 - For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life. 
  • ROMANS 5:8 – But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Your Sin
Everyone is a sinner. In God’s eyes, we are all sinners. No one is perfect as we are all born imperfect. We have all fallen short of God’s perfect righteousness by the sins we commit.

  • ROMANS 3:23 – For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. 
  • ROMANS 5:12 – Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned.
  • ISAIAH 64:6 – For all of us have become like one who is unclean, And all our righteous deeds are like a filthy garment;...  

The Penalty of Sin
The penalty of sin is death which is eternal separation from God. Because we have sinned we all deserve to be separated from God. God hates sin because it separates us from Him.

  • ROMANS 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.
  • ROMANS 5:12 - Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned      

Heaven Is Perfect
Heaven is a perfect place and no one with sin can enter into heaven. You have to be perfect to enter heaven. Because you have sinned, you are unable to go to Heaven.

  • Revelation  21:27 - and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb's book of life.

  • Matthew  5:48 - Therefore you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Nothing You Can Do
There is nothing man can do to obtain the perfection which God requires before you can enter heaven. Through our own abilities, we can do nothing to remove the stain of sin from our life to enter heaven.

  • Titus 3:5 - He saved us, not on the basis of deeds which we have done in righteousness, but according to His mercy, by the washing of regeneration and renewing by the Holy Spirit.
  • Isaiah 53:6 – All of us like sheep have gone astray, Each of us has turned to his own way; But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all To fall on Him.

 

 

Jesus Did It All
Christ paid for everyone's sin (debt) through his death, burial and resurrection. By sacrificing himself on the cross, He became sin for us. God accepts Christ’s perfect sacrifice as payment for all sins. But what must you and I do to go to Heaven?

  • 2 CORINTHIANS  5:21 - He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
  • ROMANS  4:5 – But to the one who does not work, but believes in Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is credited as righteousness

Be Heaven Bound
To go to heaven all we need to do is to believe in Jesus and Jesus alone. Once we have faith that Jesus is Lord, God sees us as righteous through Jesus. Salvation is a gift that we all can accept. Once you believe in Jesus, you can now know for sure that you will go to Heaven when you die and have eternal life.

  • Ephesians  2:8-9 –For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, so that no one may boast.

  • I John  5:13 - These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may believe on the name of the Son of God

What To Do
To accept the gift of Salvation, you need to accept Jesus Christ as your personal Lord and believe that he came down from Heaven, died on the cross for your sins and rose from the dead.

  • I Corinthians 15:3-4 - ...that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,
